E and ITC Literacy’s Programme and Networks
Programme and project initiation and management, in partnership with stakeholders, supported by Lawrence Solutions who designed, developed and implemented customised training courses from pilot to Stage 3 “Training the Trainers “for 97 public facing staff (2001-2004).
Programme objective-the improvement of the skills and competencies of a number of intermediaries, in the library, community education and youth sectors. Raising awareness of operational partners and training providers on the provision and the encouragement of public internet access and use.
These programs were ultimately successful in raising awareness on the digital inclusion agenda, developing skills, piloting training and mentoring programs as well as improving customer care skills and competencies.
Public sector staff surveyed, after training completion, indicated that they felt more confident in their delivery of customer care support for ICT use. This growing confidence encouraged further public service developments , including local initiatives for the branding, marketing and promotion campaigns associated with the People’ Network.
The ethos of this project was mainstreamed within the public sector.
